Wicker Cone Coffee Table

The Cone Coffee table have been designed by Japanese designer Rentaro Nishimura for the social enterprise People of the Sun who's profits are reinvested into our mission to reduce poverty through sustainable trade. They look amazing as a textural accent in the living room or kitchen as well as a great outdoor coffee table. The quality is fantastic, you can see the love and care that has gone into each piece.

Rentaro Nishimura’s minimalist, engineered aesthetic is displayed in both the cone tables and nesting stools. A double curvature structure provides strength using only traditional basketry techniques and materials.

Each piece is handmade in Southern Malawi by the Mango Club of basket weavers who work in the shade of the fruit trees from which they take their name. Using their traditional weaving techniques they are redefining the future for basketry by combining their skills with contemporary design and functionality.

Each stool takes one weaver two weeks to produce and earns him or her a decent living wage.
